emails rarely actually are clues to murders (ive only had emails matter with a stalker killer)
Ive had one or two murders have clues in emails, but they refer to SPOILERS.
Npcs are in general dumb about answering questions. Several times I asked the murder if they know the victim and they go "Yeah I know him, last saw him at [crime scene] at [time of death]" their communications don't really account for them having good reasons not to share information.
Lying is maybe the only thing this game cant affort, imagine the difficulty to implement this. Or if the dev want to go Blade Runner style, a lying detector like the Voigh-kamph.
Cant stop thinking about a Blade runner mod, tracking nexus down.
When stuck and unsure whether you have all information, it's a good idea to go back to a murder scene and see if you missed anything. I often find myself finding 1 more things on a scene, which i overlooked or i go sidetracked from.
