How do you use guns?

I kinda feel like an idiot asking this, but I can't seem to figure out how to use guns. Whenever I equip it, my character holds the weapon by the barrel, with the grip facing out away from me, and attacking with it just makes the character smack people with it. Even having ammo in my inventory seems to do nothing.

Am I missing something? Are firearms not completely implemented?

At the moment you can't use guns in the game. It was a design decision because originally killing people in the world yourself could really mess with the proc gen and cases but it also something that doesn't really fit with the goal of the game which is solving cases

I kinda wish you *could* kill people and plant evidence on other people to suit your own ends. Part of the fun of the sandbox should be all the unethical choices you can make. More freedom is always good.
have a mode where your the killer, not the detective, and npc detectives are trying to solve the case

First of all, you can get caught for major felonies in this game and just get a fine, the whole point is its a corporate world where only money matters. More importantly, what even would be such a big deal about a game over? You'd just load a previous save, like you do in almost every video game.

I get the impression that this just triggered you for some reason and you just fired off some kneejerk response without thinking it through.

Problem with guns, you dont need to use your brain anymore, just force brute your way through. The cleverness of the game is allowing player to have different ideas on how to solve the same puzzle.

Gun will be just the lazy option.

there is a mod called,"guns" which makes you able to shoot guns

Correct, I was merely suggesting a way out, a way to improve the half-light existence you people are stumbling through. You can absolutely keep being a moron in a self-sustaining loop until you pass away; it's completely within your rights to do so.
