Right now resolution you are playing at is one of the biggest factors. I don't know what monitor you are playing with but you could try lower the resolution.

We are aware of optimisation issues and it is definitely something we are going to improve on during early access

Im playing on 1440p so that might be whats causing it, thank you for your quick repsonse im loving the game so far its really fun

What the hell is up with the system requirements? A GTX 1060 minimum.??

@sean.campbell please AMD FSR 2 if possible
There should probably be some graphics quality settings outside of anti-aliasing and rain quality if im gonna be honest

2060 here too on 2k res, not much issues there. Is the game rather cpu intensive vs gpu maybe ? I can't understand why it would be so much reying on GPU but mre on CPU due to the nature of the game ?

It's a bit of both some high-end features being enabled (like ray tracing) as well as early development unoptimization. It performs a bit better than the demo from what I've experienced.

Ray tracing is enabled in this game? Is that listed anywhere in the game and can it be disabled?

expect that in a Early Access game. I get 70-80+ outside on a 4090 (4K though)
atlasle Apr 24, 2023 @ 11:32am
is there any way to remove the insane amount of ray tracing this game has
Kolbex Apr 24, 2023 @ 11:34am
I do not expect it in an early access game. Devs always say that optimization is "on the roadmap," but how often do they actually get around to making significant improvements? Almost never.

i think i saw that there's not much baked lighting in this game (where a texture is just redrawn in such a way that it looks like a light is shining on it, rather than have a real time light shine on it). This is because the world is procedurally generated so its not possible to bake the lighting as in most games.

That means this game has way more real time light sources than most other games which is very demanding.

I could be way off here though.

This is the most plausible explanation I've seen so far. How easily fixable is this, I wonder.
