Game is unplayable in the rain

Any time it's raining or slowing my game slows down to <1 FPS. Sometimes it even locks up completely and I have to kill the process. I'm hoping there will be optimizations to improve the performance but in the meantime it would be nice if there was a way to disable rain/snow so the game is actually playable.

You didn't mention in your post that you tried adjusting the settings. There is a rain detail setting in Graphics Options and under Gameplay there is Weather Change Frequency which defaults to 50% but can be lowered to 0% likely removing weather

that sounds like a driver issue to me. I run this game on a 6 year old card that completely lacks robust raytracing capability; I still get 45 in the rain.

Lower your resolution, and minimize rain quality. Rain quality might be the reflection quality of the raindrops, and I suspect minimum just disables that.

yeah happens to me the pc i use is really good and by all means should not be giving 5 fps only when it rain been trying to figure why it does that but i cant

Tbh frames are fine in the rain early upon loading but as the game goes on (without reloading) the frames in the rain get worse (and eventually nearly impossible to walk in). might be a memory issue with the weather of some sort or it layering the weather effects and not ending them (all the other weathers are fine). saving and reloading tends to fix it for me.

Appen to me when I play for a long period of time.

Now I just disable the rain when generating a new city.
