Are Blackmarket Passwords Case-Sensitive?

Everytime I try to give a vendor a password, no matter if it is right, I am told it is wrong. Is it case-sensitive?

Not sure, don't think so. have you tried entering anyway? I've had a reoccurring bug that the vendor will say the password is wrong even though it's right. But behave after I close the conversation as thought I got it right (which technically I did)

Actually, yeah. He said that it was "Wrong" but I was able to enter and explore as well as buy stuff from him.

You're experiencing the same bug as me. just shrug your shoulders and move on. Maybe they'll fix it, but it's a minor issue really since the store still works.

I gave a correct password which was accepted, but when I walked in it said I was trespassing, same thing happens sometimes when I bribe people to let me in for 400, no other amount.

Hello, No its not case sensitiv! There is a coding mistake with the: "If State" If you type the password correctly you get a "Wrong password" by your first try
Same with a wrong password that the NPC say "Right password"

For People who don't know: You can find Passwords on a grey wall (mostly industry or basement) There is a Symbol with a Word under it for example: Arm Dealer: Weapon Symbol with a Text: "Elictric"

These people can help you out because they have a Customer list. You could check out when and who brought a weapon.

One time it told me I had the wrong password... but it was 110% the correct password. Then I decided I was just gonna go in and beat someone up with a chair and find what I needed, but realized it said I wasn't trespassing-- so I'm pretty sure it worked even though they said it didnt. I think it just displays the wrong response sometimes. Try walking in after using the password, even if they say its wrong (do it quick and then step out if you see that it says trespassing).

I discovered that if I put in all LOWERCASE then it will tell me that I got it correct. (example, "hardcore") If I put in a uppercase letter like "Hardcore" then it would tell me that I am wrong but still act that I got it right. So .... eh, details.

It's definitely not just purely backwards-- I am reading the password right off the wall and just being told it's right, then not actually being able to enter safely

no, it is full on backwards, if you put it in correctly they will tell you it's wrong
if you put it in incorrectly (or if it bugged out somehow, thus the game interpreting as incorrect, albeit i'm more inclined to believe it's user error), they'll say it's correct

make sure you're not using the gun password at the blackmarket or vice versa, no capitals are necessary

BTW, it detects a newline character as a letter. Type the password and click confirm, don't hit enter.

Eh, just tried it in experimental with hitting enter and then clicking confirm and it worked the first time even though he said it was the wrong password.

Just tried it in the release version and it worked with hitting enter and confirm as well. Dunno what I was experiencing at the time then.

I did figure out they print the password in the graffiti in upper and lower case and they use a font where a capital i looks like a lower case L. so Llly is actually lily

Black market vendors- When they're present, which is usually just for the first 4 hours of a new save- Work on opposite day. If you give the correct password they'll say it's wrong, but if you give the wrong one they'll say it's right. You can check at the door by asking to buy from them, and if they let you then you're good.
