Can't Find the Envelope?
Hey so I've done this corpo espionage mission a couple times now. Each time the envelope has been either at the target's residence or at their workplace. But this time there's literally nothing? Nothing on them, in their apartment, or anywhere in their workspace. I've turned the place upside down.

Weirdly, there IS an unrelated secret envelope that seems to keep respawning at their workplace, on someone else's desk. It doesn't register as correct when I pick it up. Is this a bug, or is there something I'm missing? Am I supposed to tail them?

i mean, i know there's an envelope item that spawns naturally, but that sounds like a bug to me.

I just got the game, but I've noticed that if you look around carefully while you are on a unrelated case, it is possible to find other envelopes. Perhaps you previously looted it and sold it and therefore inadvertently broke the quest?

Honestly sounds like the job didn't correctly place the envelope. Been a more common problem in the latest build. (recently I had a stolen item job. I identified the thief, they lived in a basement which literally has no place to hide anything. not the first time I've found stolen items in basements, but the large bottle of wine was not there. had to drop the case) Hope it gets fixed soon.

For the secret envelope, I had to scour the whole building for someone working at that building that's old and had shoe size 14. I found them and went straight to their home but could not find the envelope there, not even on their sleeping body. Then I thought about the work place and found the item nearby on their colleague's table.

What PetPup said ^^

I'm new to the game too but my last theft case was like this, found emails of the target talking about some "details" with a colleague at work, envolepoe ended up in that co-workers desk drawer, NOT on the suspect, their desk, vault or at their home!

[I'm willing to bet there is a chance the envelope could go home with that colleague as well -- so watch out!]

Be thorough on email history, not only is it fun to read, apparently it was shockingly relevant (among what I thought at first was just RNG communications)
