Want to Play the Game without needing the TAGEs Fix

I have managed to play the game using the TAGEs fix, but am not happy as the crack is identified as a possible credential stealer by Windows Defender.

At the moment I have raised a support ticket with Atari who are saying they no longer have access to the keys for the game and therefore can't offer support anymore to this problem.

I have countered with forwarding a link to a 2009 article where a community team member was reported to have advised that eventually the DRM would be removed, see the link below.

Although they have advised that they will look into this, and foward my concerns to the higher ups after I suggested that they supply a DRM free exe update to the Steam version of the game, similar to how GOG had a DRM free version of the game, I don't hold out much hope as I am one voice.

May I suggest however that all owners of this game who are unable to play the game due to the TAGEs issue raise a support ticket with Atari, link provided below.

in the hope that if the demand is shown to be high enough they may accede to supplying the fix for players.

We have bought the game, and should not be penalised because they have decided that they no longer need to support the game or give us access to the TAGEs DRM.

Yes the game is 10 years old, but that is the beauty of PC gaming. There are many old titles that we can still play today, and Riddick Dark Athena runs quite well on Windows 10, although I can't get 2550x1440 and 4K to work.

I hope that we can get a fix to this game, but it will only happen if we apply enough pressure to Atari the publisher.

i will check it out & see if it runs on win 10, i only played a few minutes of this game

The game runs quite well on Windows 10, although due to it's age it won't run on any resolution above 1920x1080. You can select higher resolutions, but the game crashes. I think I had to use the DPI fix in compatibility mode.

runs good so far for the butcher bay thing, haven't tried dark athena but tages didn't seem to cause me trouble "yet".
i just play 1080p & yes it looks dated, maybe athena will look better.

I opened a ticket. i bought this game on steam over a decade ago and I want to play it again but I cant activate it?!...wtf...I shouldn't have to resort to a pirated copy or crack. This is unbelievable!
