Is Floyd officially the weakest now?
>has the worst forward special in the game
>Has bad crowd control
>Slow as hell
>Has a throw that give enemies free openings to hit you because it doesn't affect enemies that are standing directly in front of you
>Has that double skull crush that triggers automatically and can cause your death in crowded area
>Has the worst charged attack
>His basic combo causes him to move forward so it opens his flank to the Donovans and other annoying pests
>Despite being slow, his damage output is low

Max who is supposed to also be the heavy archetype blow Floyd out of the water to be honest

I main Floyd since before DLC and didn't notice that. Actually had a blast playing Floyd with his new alternate moves from Survival mode. Maybe I'm just not that sensitive, I guess??

Yeah honestly I felt like Max was really good. The only downside is the fact he doesn't heal green health off his Star Moves or from Weapons. Other than that though he's so easy to spam Vortex Vacuum and gain it all about via power sliding that it's not that big a deal.

Floyd has always been the worst, even in the vanilla version. He just doesn't have enough moves, and he is too slow to dodge.

He needs a new standing jump (instead of just reusing his forward one) that reliably counters air moves, since he has bugger all anti air right now. Make his forward throw always hit all enemies, including the ones right in front of him (mooks right in front of you won't get hit due to the arc of the thrown body going above them), and make his throws recover faster. He should also be able to switch between forward pogo jump and standing one instead of being locked in one or the other.
Being able to instantly cancel to throws after the forward special should be useful too, right now the move just gets you hit even if you grab something. Like, if you have some mooks standing near you when doing f+A and catching a bad guy, just hold a direction to do his double slam, INSTEAD of getting hit out of it first.
Maybe also reduce the defensive specials recovery since he is too slow to dodge without resorting to this, and then you just get locked in to repeating it since you can't get out in time.

No. Flyod is still the strongest character in the game.

just played through the game the first time with floyd, and, while he is strong enough to beat the game, the first time i played just a little bit with estel and shiva i knew that they were stronger than floyd. although, the double grab move on floyd is very fun to move and hits both enemies like a truck

Max has more mobility and is overall more flexible than Floyd, but his damage output is significantly lower.

With the new unlockable moves Floyd still is the one of the best, specially in Survival; Gatling Punches + Electric Blitz = infinite stunlock.

Shiva is arguably the best character in the game, and Floyd the second.

Floyd is consistent with his moveset, it's his mobility that makes it tough as you need to commit to dodges whereas Max has armor and can use rolling grab to get out of tight spots. Most of the changes with these characters is basically swapping an OTG effect or hitbox immunity.

Hell no, you can do a 50% corner combo just by repeating his punch string plus doing his heavy punch once for OTG.

Floyd is a good character. He has flaws like every other character, but once you work around your weaknesses, he becomes a beast at dealing damage and crowd controlling. Not sure if he's the best, but he's really strong if you know how to use him. Just like Max in SoR2.

Since when Floyd took the Axel's niche of the 'the worst'? Actually, I think they are pretty similar in one key aspect - they both love to crowd control and are both very good at it. In the right hands though Floyd is far from being the weakest character.
P.S But yeah, Max is OP for one reason - he's the Floyd archetype without ANY trade offs which is ridiculous.

I dunno, I love wrestling archetypes in beat'em ups, I love Floyd (lvl30 was a breeze), but I just don't feel Max. Neither 2 or 4. I picked him for survival co-op one time and died like 5 times (sorry, man).

Btw, have checked out Floyd on Mania+ and oh boi does he struggle. I mean why did they remove so many i-frames after his defensive special? That makes 0 sense.

what are you talking about? Floyd has great crowd control.

His throws do a ton of damage, he can re-position, has access to a projectile if you can grab an enemy. His defensive special also has a bigger vertical hitbox then most, does more damage then many defense specials on average, and the it can often hit tons of enemies because of the all the hitstop on it.

He's not fast, but he was faster then axel, and that new air special looks fast.

Yeah, that's what you have the other throws for. If there is an enemy if front of you use the punch away or jump slam or electric hand special. If you wanna just mindlessly do the same thing over and over again and get punished for it, that's your fault.

The double grab move is really good, dunno what you mean.

His DPS isn't bad at all again, don't know what you're talking about. If his DPS wasn't good he wouldn't have the 4th fastest speed run time (On the previous version.)
