Final Boss Is Too Easy/Empty
Q. You know what would look cooler than a giant Robo Spider pounding air?

A. A giant Robo Spider pounding/slicing through an army of Ninja Murphys just to get to you!

Think about it, Doesn't the boss fight look a little empty? In SoR 1 & 2 there were always mobs spawning to help Mr. X.

If we use Ninja Murphy mob then we will have 3 challenges to keep in check:
(1) The Robo Spider's attacks will not be your full attention, thus making it harder to dodge it,
(2) Keeping mob control so that you don't get ninja stared to death,
(3) Mrs. Y's charge attacks will make sure you don't plow through the Ninja Murphys with no sweat.

Note: Ninja Murphy can get hurt by Robo Spider (making the Machine look like its dealing more destruction).

And whats cooler than Blaze using ninja stars to take down the syndicate? Okay maybe Adam, Axel, or whoever you like to main.

This idea may never come to light, but I thought it was a cool idea so I thought I would share it.

The final boss is too easy because it's just Ys. the robot itself is laughably easy and easy to dodge. But that just seems to be par for the course in this game. None of the bosses are hard. And this isn't even a "I'm just so good at the game" sort of talk. Literally NONE of them are hard. Diva is probably the most difficult boss in the game, and for all of the wrong reasons.

Well, I don't have any ideas for the other bosses. I thought the Divas were one of the easy ones. Estel 2 is more of a tough bean for me.

Estel 2 herself isn't hard. Her adds on the other hand, are the problematic part. It's especially true if you try to rush down Estel 2 instead of getting rid of at least 1. Not the double Divas. Just the first 1. She has a ton of super armor on random things and her attacks automatically knock you in ways to lead you to being juggled.

I don't think Iv'e been juggled by Divas yet.

Max is kind of hard, it feels like fighting a damn tank that never falls down.

Adam can quickly boot Max to purification, and most of the other characters should be able to spam their back attack against Max. His thunder tackles are where I have trouble dealing with when I'm bum rushing him, most of the time I don't consider trying to neutral jump through them.

The boss balance is all over the place. I mean DJ Kawashi in Stage 10 is a joke compared to Comissioner in Stage 2

None of the bosses in any SOR game are hard when you face them solo, they all get their difficulty because they have large groups supporting them.

As for the final boss of SOR4, it's easy because 99% of the time it's Mr. Y who jumps into the robot first. Every once in a while, it'll by Ms. Y instead, and then you'll have a hell of a time because Mr. Y potshots you from a screen away, or launches the bazooka which explodes off the corner (where you can safely attack the robot), so you have to spend half your time dodging him and the other half dodging the robots legs, without being able to to much damage to either because they cover each other so well.

I dont remember the classic, but in remake, plenty of them are quite hard. And you face them solo.

Shiva's Armor Palm Strike

I think DJ K-Washi's projectiles don't do enough damage to justify actually having to dodge them.

The only thing I think that's nonsense about Ms. Y is her gaining armor during her grab attempt. The Y who loses the most health will be the first to jump into the mech.

Wait... seriously?

Maybe I just have a thing about beating up Mr Y during that fight then...
Jacowboy Jul 21, 2020 @ 1:26pm
if you want to make the last boss harder, beat ms Y first...

Players tend to go after harder targets so that they don't have to put up with them any further.

Also, lets play the game without jumping, picking up food, money, and stars. That will make the game harder.

Because when something is too easy, just tie your hands behind your back to make it a challenge.
Evilsod Jul 21, 2020 @ 4:36pm
I've always just gone for Mr Y because I want to beat the crap out of him as much as possible before he jumps into the machine.

Ms Y is honestly, utterly trivial in both encounters.

That's most likely the Remake changing them, because in the originals half of them have easily abusable patterns, or can be glitched out, and the rest are only difficult because there's a huge crowd (once you mop up the crowd, the boss is weak).

Barbon - doesn't have good enough moves, and takes ultra damage from Max's super.
Jet - just advance the screen slowly so his help never spawns, then you can just stand in place and jump kick as he does his ramming move.
Zamza - jump away from his body when he is getting up to bait him to do an uppercut, leaving him completely open.
Abadede - his uppercut has so poor hitboxes that you can use the jump pressure move to combo him, just remember that he can break out of long combos and holds.
Bear - always does an uppercut if you stand near him when he is standing up; do a standing special to make you invincible (neither of you hit the other, so no health is lost), then just pummel him. However you have quite a crowd to deal with before you can do this, so this is the first of the hard bosses.
Souther + 3 jets - about the only hard boss in the game, but note that with Max you can snipe Souther with your super very fast if you catch him blocking a thunder tackle, and if Souther dies, the rest will go down too.
Robots - get the last Jack clone to spawn 6 daggers, and the robots will glitch out. Their arms count as projectiles, and if you have more than 6, their hitboxes won't spawn, making them unable to hit you at all. This fight is a turkey shoot.
Shiva - keep him half a screen away to bait him to do the Final Crash, which you can dodge by JUMPING IN PLACE, and then pummel him.
Mr. X - he has 2 moves total, he is only hard because there's a ton of punks crowding you.
