Give it another playthrough with an open mind. It plays A LOT like SOR4 to the point where I easily recommend it anyone who enjoys SOR4. I really enjoyed SOR4 too.
I find it lacking in fluidity and ability to connect moves. It was the same problem with the older fan version of SOR. Whereas with SOR4 I can make crazy combos and perfect stages. I think it's the only game I got all accomplishments.
And MRB is a pretty bad one overall, with lackluster enemy design, no combo depth, janky movement/controls, etc.
