its 2d artstyle is beautiful as well as unique. stop asking games to be 3d with cell shading.
even these old snk sprites have more detail than sor4, especially muscles and clothing. sor4 sprites might have more animation frames but the artwork is low detail and plain so it looks like a kids cartoon and out of place for a street of rage game.

then this isnt the game for you, SOR4 artstyle is that of a comic book and homage to the original games. its clean and simple with a slight quirkiness to it. thats what gives SOR4 its identity.
there are plenty of games out there that are japanese anime 3d cell shaded.
hows Capcoms and SNK's KOF artstyle now? KOF looks like ass as well as SF V. those games arguably wish they had the same artstyle as SOR4.

I aint talking about their sprite work i am talking about their new direction using 3d...
that is literally the artstyle... SOR4 pays homage to comic book designs from the 90s. GUILTY GEAR isnt 2d artstyle is 3d cel-shaded just like Zelda BOTW or Ni No Kuni series or Gravity Rush. different artstyles ask for different stylistic directions of (your more detail) approach. Making SOR4 cel-shaded 3d would def not fit and i mean NOT fit or pay homage to the series on any level.
asking this is like asking their next game TMNT - Shredders Revenge to be like the turtles design and gfx from injustice 2.
furthermore DOTEMU is about retro gaming they dont make 3d modern era looking games thats not who they are or what they are about. Retro gaming and artwork is beautiful it has charm that many games in this era lack.

Guilty Gear is def a pretty game, its 3D cel-shaded direction is hell of alot better than what SNK and CAPCOM are doing right now.
but GG design will ever beat the art work and 2d sprites of
Street Fighter Alpha series and 3rd Strike
KoF series and 2d animations of KoF 12 and 13

the original streets of rage trilogy artwork never had anything to do with comics, none of the box art presented itself as a comic book, they had a life like theme to them and the 2d sprites did as well, life like in the year it released.
none of the original sprites had these ridiculously large black outlines, and the sor4 sprites have even less detail than sor2 sprites in terms of number of different colors, shading, muscle and clothing detail.
spiderman artwork has a lot detail and looks lifelike, it looks nothing similar to the dexters lab cartoon/sor4 simple artwork.
