I've done a quick run on easy and guess what. It felt significantly harder than in SoRR v5.1.
Also, is it only me, but the game runs with microstutters/slower in general than v5.1?
Update:
1. It looks like widescreen has some tearing issues and slowdowns. Turning off the widescreen mode resolves the tearing issues and slowdowns somewhat. They are still present though.
2. The game crashes every time you change an option quickly in the options menu.
A decent update I'd say, but a very buggy release in my opinion.

Did a quick run on hard mode with a CPU partner. I didn't notice any real issues but yes, the game feels much harder now.

My buddy died and used up his continues by stage 4, and usually makes it to the end with me.

That's some epic news! I didn't dare to dream that we would get another update after all these years. Looks awesome, music transitions seem a bit rough though (tiny gaps between the into and looping tracks).

Okay, for those who are gonna run SoRR v5.2 on the intergrated Vega 3 - you might want to turn off fullscreen optimization (click on the executable -> compatibility -> change the settings for all users -> disable fullscreen optimization) to avoid screen tearning and weird slowdowns in the widescreen mode. This workaround solution seems to work pretty well. No slowdowns, no screen tearing no more!

its not a sequel, its a fan made remake. SoR4 is the sequel whenever you like it or not.
