Different number of enemies spawning on Stage 1 level 1 (mania)

it took me a while to notice this, but there are two specific points on the first level in which you might face a different number of enemies.Talking about Mania difficulty here.

instance number one is the very first stretch - galsias and y-signals, but before the Go prompt leading to the knife galsias. In this stretch I've noticed a 30-pt difference between different playthroughs here, which suggests that sometimes an extra Galsia spawns... not sure why? maybe it's something to do with which enemies you defeat in which order?

The same thing happens when the Green signals first appear. After defeating the first G-Signal, either 1, 2 or 3 more G-Signals will spawn, but it seems to be a different number depending on in which order you defeat the Galsias, Donovans and the first G-Signal. I THINK it's based on how many enemies are still in play when the first G-Signal is defeated?

update: did some playing around. In the first instance, I focus on defeating all the Galsias before touching the Y-Signals, and this causes an extra Galsia to spawn.
in the second, it seems like leaving the G-Signal till last and defeating the Galsias and Donovans first, three more G-Signals spawn.

Stage 3 also has one of the yellow Handsinpants sometimes not spawning, right at the very beginning, sometimes 2 drops, sometimes just 1. Makes only about 200-300pts difference from what I recall, assuming you don't break the combo in the first two sections (so everything up until you drop down into the room where Big Ben slaps a dude and rolls away).
