Modders for Streets of Rage 4?

I hope they exist. I'm sure the game will get DLC for new characters, stages, modes, and so on but looking what was made available for the unofficial sequel makes me hopeful that some of those modders are hard at work for their own enjoyment and hopefully ours making mods that will extend the shelf-life of this game. XD

Who wouldn't want to play as various other Sega characters in this game? or have a mode that makes everyone look like chibi anime characters. Oh the possibilities.

For now it's mostly just replacing sprites. We don't yet know how to modify animations are hitboxes.

There's a tool called SOR4Explorer that can view, extract and replace sprites. You can download it here:

I’ve seen mods enabling use of the bosses. Is it possible to mod in mode that randomizes the enemies in all stages?

That could happen eventually, but it's VERY early days.
