WHY AXEL NEED A CLASSIC SKIN SO BADLY
A little analysis on the character's personality and dress style and how he was totally "SUCKED" by the developers.

1 -THE NEW OUTFIT
The clothes he wears in Streets of Rage 4 do not suit the character's original style, for example During SOR 1,2,3 we see that Axel has a taste for tidier clothes, with the baby look shirt to highlight the physique, and we also noticed that he likes to wear his shirt tucked inside his pants for a tidier look, and to complete the look, the classic blue ribbon on his forehead to complete the style.

2 - THE BEARD
Axel's beard just doesn't fit the character. Axel in all versions of the game, appears with a shaved beard, which demonstrates a personal care with his appearance and completes the neat look of his standard clothes. The typical look of the 90s. Beard shaved, clothes tight and well groomed.

3- THE ATHLETIC BODY
In SOR4 Axel appears short, fat, and hunchbacked.
However in the versions of SOR1,2,3 we saw that he is an athlete. A martial arts practitioner, with an athletic physique, with a good stature. And not the fat, hunchbacked dwarf that was presented in SOR4 totally running away from the character's concept. He totally lost the character's identity here.

Knowing these characteristics presented by the character, you must use this to remake the character, and if you run away from the main characteristics of the character, he becomes bizarre and without identity. I will quote examples here.

Let's get the Terminator movie. Can you imagine Arnold as the Terminator in the film, wearing a pink shorts, a slipper, and a Hawaiian hat to protect Jhon Connor? Or is it more convincing as it was presented in the first films? Leather jacket, sunglasses, and dark clothes to give a badass biker tone.
That's exactly what I want to get with Axel in SOR4. The character lost a lot of his identity, and this was certainly a great disrespect to the fans of the character.
Yes it's just a game, but even game heroes have their fan base. I am a huge fan of my game heroes myself and will continue to be, I have many. Terry Bogard, Ken Masters, Axel Stone, among many others that I would not like to see their appearance damaged, because it was just the way they appeared in the games that I identified with them and liked them.

Finally, if you still have the minimum respect for Axel's fan base devs, give us at least his classic Skin in HD, as an apology for the "OFFENSE" you did with the character in Streets of Rage 4.

Thank you.

He looks pretty hunched over in SOR3 to me...

Its not offensive if you realized that you are playing as Axel, the Dwarf and not The Axel.

you made me laugh. Axel Thunderhead. He is a descendant of Gillius.

... I like the new look. It's cool.

And the body physique is believable coupled with his clothing style.

Everyone in the 80's wore those cut-up sleeveless jean jackets and have since then aged themselves.

He's one of the better designed characters, in my opinion.
Certainly better than the MK Jax wannabe.

I *HATE* that hipster beard.

Quit your duck syndrome. His new outfit looks cool, unlike SOR1 appearence, where he was wearing generic blue jeans and white tank top. Switch these outfits and I'm pretty sure you would say something like "His new design is boring".
Axel looks awesome NGL.

Only biggest improvement is Blaze. Damn, fanart for years.

He looks nowhere near fat at all. I mean, all the people making this claim must not know what fat looks like at all. He's got pecs and you can see abdomen muscles that could be a 4 or 6 pack for crying out loud. How many fat people have that?! He actually looks like he'd has a more built physique in SoR4 with how bulked up his character appears.

Plus it fits how he plays now. Being the second heaviest SoR4 character and got a big damage boost at the cost of speed.

Axel has changed and it is time to move on. We aren't in 1991 anymore. Now Axel is older and more experienced, so clothes are only showing it. What really bothers me is that Adam and Blaze didn't change a thing, so it is a bit incoherent. Having both old and new visuals for everyone (like in Mortal Kombat) would be cool though.

It doesn't fit his character because I don't like it.

Hobo Axel is truly awful.

Meh, he looks pretty badass to me.
