It's not exactly a series that's renowned for sensible stories. Is SoR4 really any more daft than Mr X literally returning from the dead, or as a brain in a jar replacing people with robots? Controllable kangaroos? Eight-foot-tall fat guys belching huge plumes of fire?
Granted though, the Y twins and late-game levels don't have the same sense of threat and tension that you get in the first two games.
So true! I mean... look at the fact there's a predator/wolverine looking dude inside a horror arcade in SOR2 lol.
But seems like its implied Axel and Blaze are a thing.
OTOH I think Esthel and the Commissioner are a father/daughter team.
You ain't your momma's either.
JK, XD.
On a serious note, I have to say no. SoR 1, 2, and 3? confirm That Blaze and Axel are a thing. And if it were Adam and Blaze, why would Blaze have her arm on Axel at the end of Sor 4?
Also we see Adam working his way through the ranks of the law, while Blaze gets canned for punching the commissioner. If anything, why did Axel leave Blaze, only to become a waffle-eating hobo who looks severely sad.
At best, Axel and Blaze look like very close buddies who went through a lot together.
At worst, one could even imagine a sitcom with Axel and Blaze having their own romantic partners then realizing that actually, a couple who fight crime together make cream ever after.
SOR4 lore is all over the place. This what happens when you are stuck between a soft reboot, a sequel or an enhanced and improved remake.
I haven't read the whole comments but let me tell the basic of screenwriting: if it's not in the screen, didn't happened.
I don't want to be extremist on some way, I kinda understand the will to create this theory, but even if there not much storyboard on beat'em ups, they sure would develop the link between mother and daughter since both are important characters. Adam appeared on 1 single cutscene and Cherry hugs him. Why Cherry and Blaze don't show proximity unless once?
U used too much drugs, if u dont see in official ending art Blaze laid hand and her herself literally on Axel consider its hug, while Cherry hug Adam, and Floyd stand aside. Maybe in SOR5 we will see their kid, Uncle Skate but if it will be about their kid they will be already old but still playable i suppose, and how I see Skate became not fighter but someone else, so maybe it will be just after SOR4 again our favorite heroes Blaze, Axel Shiva etc but with new threat not just another Syndicate reborn.
