No resolution options?
How do I know if the game is in the correct resolution on my monitor? I have a feeling that it is not.

It's a 2D game. The assets can't change resolution. They are all fit for 1080p.

It doesn't look sharp or is it something else?

I'm playing it at 1440p and everything is really sharp. I don't know if this "assets were created for 1080p" is actually stated somewhere or based on observation.

Digital Foundry made a video with indepth on the development of this game. It is internally rendering at 1920x1080 even if your computer is running at higher resolutions.

I play at 4k on my TV and generally the artwork looks very good.

I did take a screenshot and looked at this up close, I would say it was a little blurry and definitely in line with an 1080p internal render, so that makes sense.

Just found the digital foundry article written by John Linneman...

"Streets of Rage 4 was created using the in-house Guard Crush Engine which allows for smooth 60fps 2D action across multiple platforms. The game is designed with a target of 1080p but owing to the nature of the game, the output resolution has little impact on what you see - the artwork is clean and crisp on all platforms tested. In that sense, it's rather reminiscent of Cuphead, which looks much the same no matter what resolution it's rendered at (within reason!)."

If you read the above you would of understood that the resolution doesnt really matter in this game. However you just keep on bashing it like you always do.

I have a MAME arcade cabinet that I run select Steam games on. Was hoping this game could be run in 4:3 resolution seeing how it's perfect for an arcade cab. From my research, it doesn't look like it's possible to change the resolution, let alone to a 4:3 aspect. Can anyone confirm?
