The damage output is higher for SOR4 characters but it would be great if they could dash/ roll as well. When I used SOR3 characters for mania, the stages were much easier to manage.
mechanics can be improved how can the most basic concept go over you heads
Yeah... SoR4 *is* a fun game, but everyone moves 10% slower than I'd like. It's juuuust a little too slow. It's fine, you get used to it. But I'd still like to be faster.
That's fair. You could kinda spam it to break enemies. Maybe certain enemy types could counter your rolls, like if you rolled into them you'd immediately be grabbed or something.
The reason I like it so much is because I can move up and down faster, mainly. I use it more for simple positioning rather than a dodge.

They removed the spammable dodge that wasn't fun and replaced it with the new dodge mechanic (iframes on Special Attack, and the ability to regenerate the life cost of special attacks) that is fun and interesting.
You now can't just spam dodge - you need to use it properly, and it has a cost; but it's a cost that you can recover by playing well.
I'd be cool with that. I hope we get one!
