What is up with Gamepass version of the game?

Just launching the game was a problem. The game would launch, stay in load screen for ages and half the time it would just crash without error making me to boot it up again.

Every time I joined I got message saying lobby is full or connection was lost.
Creating the lobby and waiting got me nowhere as well, so I'm guessing multiplayer isn't working for me.

Vibration for xbox one controller was bugged where I'd get only the left trigger rumble to go off. I thought it was my controller at the fault but the trigger rumbles work fine on other games like Gears of War 5.

I can't even launch it, starts up with the splashscreen, stays like that for about 30 sec and crashes with no error message or anything.

Same, although it may be because my pc isnt fully up to date or my video drivers, but I typically wait a few months for the feature updates since microsoft breaks things 90% of the time and i'm working from home so. No time for that mess lol

Sorry, guys, but it works for me. Crashed on the first level when I started, but other than that going ok.
But I can't connet to anyone online.

Oh, and one time long loading screen. But my HDD is crap, sometimes it freezes the whole system for a minute, maybe that's what it was.

People who cant launch, try setting your windows 10 language to english. It fixed the problem for me, some bug with generating the save file on first launch or something. Now if anyone can tell me why I cant play it with a ps4 controller on Game Pass, that would be great.

Had one crash on the first level, but after that I was able to finish the game with no problems.

Because it's a microsoft launcher?
But no, it's probably just needs Xinput controller, meaning like xbox or most of 3rd party.
I use a cheap knockoff now, it has a built-in switch between DirectInput (PS-like) and Xinput (Xbox). Still never used DirectInput.

I know the XBP version is "free" but it's not worth it. But if you got it there (£1 trial hopefully, and not fully priced) and can't load it; go to the Microsoft store, tab right next to profile, to "downloads and updates" and update everything. Xbox Pass beta is a just that; a beta and often does odd stuff. But after comparing versions, the XBP version is severely lacking. Apart from horrendous load times, there are no in-game video/graphics options at all, so no fiddling with low/mid/high/ultra settings or using the built in FPS counter to make sure you are at a silky smooth frame rate, nor can you add retro filters to the screen (scanlines, CRT, pixelated etc). Also XBP online is playable only with other XBP users. GOG has it worse though as that's not even playable online...yet.
Edit: Also, as skald above said, Ps4 pad on XBP needs a 3rd party driver like DS4windows but the Steam version has native support for both. You can even change the button prompts in game from XB to PS if you like. Hope this helps.

I had this problem and I read about a dumb solution on reddit.

When you have the launched and it's loading, go back to the xbox beta screen and keep mashing on the launch button. If the screen minimizes again, open it back up and mash the launch button again. It's easier if you go under settings and set it not to minimize while playing games.

When I read this, I swear to god I thought like wtf how is that possible. But it got it to launch for me. Don't ask me why lol.

Only problem is I have to do it every time, but at least there is a way to play the game.
