Retrobit Genesis Controller Support
I have a Genesis USB controller and bought it specifically to play SoR4. The controller is undetected in game. Any ideas on how to get it working?

I was planning on playing local co-op with 2 of these controllers.

Holding Start + B for five seconds should change it from dinput to xinput, assuming it's the same as the 6 button models. If the button placement is poor, you should be able to rebind them appropriately in-game.

Software like Xpadder may help you out. Xpadder costs 9.99 USD. Maybe search for similar software but I have found free ;^) copies of it easily on the internet.

Check if you can see it on Steam controller config menu, so it could run as a emulated XBox 360 Controller for the games.

My 8bitdo M30 isn't detected on either dinput or xinput

Even tried using x360ce and no luck

Are you kidding? I bought that controller just for this game, too.

I am so glad I read these forums before buying the game. YIKES.

Using both the 8bitdo M30 and retrobit Saturn controllers here, both detected and working perfectly in Xinput mode.

OK, that's the one I have.

OP, do you have the 6-button one?

Go to View in steam - top left - settings / controller - general controller settings
and in there uncheck all of it

At lest that is what i had to do to get my ps4 controller to work right in some games
just remember to turn it back on if you need it for another game this is what i had to do to even get my ps4 to work on some games that have native ps4 support

Thanks guys! I got it working after switching to D-input mode as suggested by State. I'm able to play the game now as intended,

Honestly though, not sure why I had to change the input mode to get it to detect. I've been using the controller on emulators without issue.

Thanks to this threads comments, I got a workaround! In x360e go to "My game settings", select your game and tick the box "Dinput file"

I have a genesis retrobit megadrive 6 button controller works great in Sor4 without fiddling around with apps, I also have two 3 buttons gamepad that came with the megadrive mini, which one are you trying to use?

Kind Regards

So annoying these controllers default to DirectInput and not XInput.
