I am a Blaze player myself and I only use her blitz for OTG attacks. I use her grabs extensively as they are ultrafast, long range and powerful. Her forward special can clear half the screen when used as defense and throw most enemies into holes on the other side of the screen as offensive. Her jump special can get you out of harms way in a heartbeat or make you continue your combo.
But hey, there are many other options that you might like. I like to play as Axel for example although many people say that he is the worst character out there. It's all about your pace and preference.

her back throw is ass in this version. I mean I get what it's for but I feel like it's more problem than it's worth.
Her combo finisher (the two hit high kick/axe kick) sweeps enemies downwards. It is almost guaranteed to send enemies into bottomless pits. Doesn't matter if you are close or far from the pit.
Her offensive special is probably the safest one to use. Every hit lenghtens its duration and the damage is high and instant. Excellent range too.
Her blitz also can launch enemies from the ground into a comboable state. Not against the wall you can do four hits of her combo, blitz, down flying kick, blitz, combo until the hits stop and do another blitz.
Bosses usually love to do an armor hit as soon they get up, when they are about to, you defensive special and repeat.
Up against walls, you can full combo into blitz, down flying kick into full combo again and another blitz.. That does around 35-40% of the first boss at Boss Rush.
Her neutral throw has iframes and her back throw gives you mobility, too.
