I honestly can't fathom where the difficult is supposed to be. Just dodge his moves and hit him in between, he's by far the least dynamic and most predictable boss, he has no curveballs whatsoever.
- He does his dropkick when you are too far. It is easy to avoid anyway.
- The spinning attack in phase 1 has so little range that you can hit him if you position yourself correctly. The spinning attack in phase 2 is easy to avoid.
- The charge attack is telegraphed. Get yourself in the same vertical axis at a safe distance. Repeat for all the three attacks. If you are feeling beautiful today you can try to jump him with an empty jump.
You can also use neutral special when you feel you don't have enough time to move away from him.
Tried that for 5 runs in normal, with Axel (combo + blitz + specials), and 3 runs with Floyd.
Never got him down 2/3 of his life before losing my own 3 lives, lol.
But that was because mashing buttons weren't enough to escape his grabs, for me.
Now I've found a way to escape those, so it's much more doable indeed!
Thanks for sharing, though! Appreciated ;)
Mashing buttons didn't work, for me, to escape his grabs.
And somehow he constantly went for those grabs, on my runs.
So, yeah, avoiding the rest was clearly not enough, as he munched through my 3 lives with just a few "unavoidable" grabs in barely a minute of fight.
But now I trained a bit with those "grab escapes", seeing a few videos where people do escape those indeed.
And d-pad was the way : it works SO MUCH better than mashing buttons, for me!
Now, with those grabs out of the way, for sure Max becomes very doable, lol! xD
(especially with those additionnal tips you provided)
Thanks for sharing!
I'm glad you made it.
