Yes it does and for Windows 7 you need a Tages Patch or it wont work at all. After you did that you are clear for launch ... until it crashes as soon as you reach the main menu.

I heard about Steam offline mode or blocking the connectivity of the .exe but it wont work. Will ask Valve for a refund. Dont waste your money on this because it`s broken.

Not true, I didn't need any Tages "patch" at all and I just installed the Steam version today...I have the GamersGate version as well. This is on Windows 7 64-Bit.

Game works absolutely fine.

Sounds like an "avoid" to me. Oh well. I wonder why some devs even bother with this crap. It's not like there are a million people with no money dying to play this game. Not that Tages or SecuROM serve their purpose anyway.

You may be lucky but google for "tages" or "crash" regarding this game and you will see...

It works if you disconnect from the Internet before starting the game but seriously how could Valve let that one through?

We will soon upload a version that doesnt include Tages anymore. With that all problems should be gone. We are also looking into replacing the GameSpy MP component.

Dear god please do. Just picked this game up (I'm on windows 8) and got this "tages" stuff. Had to be admin to varify, and then some system error, like 1275? or something. Well the game didn't work and told me I wasn't the admin, which is bs, since I am the ONLY person that uses this comp.

I'm sorry, but I don't have the patients anymore to deal with this kind of stuff. Part of the idea of steam is the hopes for more stable game versions and a reduction in the need to spend hours looking for obscure answers and patches.

I loved the orginal Panzers, I'd be playing that now if I still had a copy. And I'd very much like to play this game with some buddies online. So please DO fix this. If it was some issues with an older comp I'd understand. But this is a new comp for gaming and to buy a game here and have it completely non-functional is pathetic on the part of the game.

Don't let your game go to waste.

Yeah I don't think the mounting complaints will be/are due to any ill-will. It is simply that people WANT to play the game. And easily. Thanks.

Can you be more specific about which driver or how you figured out which one?

EDIT: This page[www.tagesprotection.com]. ( Select Drivers page from to menu, I selected x64 version on the Driver page)

But is doesn't matter. I was able to log in, and it was loading the screens, but it was 98% black with basic blue, red, green, streaks and angled blotches. It did not work. And although this isn't a top of the line gaming pc, it is meant for games and I have no problem running any of the other games on my list. SO going by the other threads I've read on Steam, this game may need a patch.

( I tired to take a screenshot but it was too meesed up to even function, once I got it going.)

This worked for me:

Updated the tagesprogram from the tages website to x64.

the problem is already known in windows help.

after installing the update, no problems anymore installing and running under Win 7 x64

(I hope this helps for more people)
