I have a large collection of PC games on disc, and I have only been able to use the CD keys to activate the Steam version on a very few of them. Codename: Panzers 1 and 2 (I do not own Cold War in the physical format) are among the many that did not work. I dont know why this is the case with so many not working, but It is very frustrating to be holding a game in your hand that you paid for and be forced to purchase the game a second time due to disc no longer working properly on the newer systems. I have been able to dig around in my registry and find codes that worked on Steam for a few games, but that will only work with games I was able to install from the disc, and I would advise that most should stay out of the registry unless you know what your doing. So unfortunately it seems repurchasing games in their digital format will be the only way to play the games we have bought on disc that will no longer work.
ok... no problem and thanks you for answering, see you on steam :P!
