How does Salmonella work?
I'm just curious (for the sake of optimizing my restaurants) if Salmonella gets removed from everything after it's cooked, or if it only applies to chicken. I know anything chicken touches basically "infects" it with salmonella resulting in other ingredients becoming contaminated but for example if chicken and bread were both using the same conveyor to be roasted, would the salmonella be removed from both?

I have had chicken, egg and bread for breaded chicken all merging to one conveyor and going through the same processor before being cooked and had no issues. The conveyors look a little green but the end meal is fine. :)

Ah well that works then. Something to think about going forward :) I get in a rut trying to optimize right away and tweak from there and was kind of upset knowing I could have done the grilled chicken sandwich on one grill instead of two! Lol

I haven't fully figured this out yet, but it seems like cooking things completely fixes salmonella, so it hasnt been a big issue for me as long as you dont put something that doesnt need cooking anywhere with raw chicken.

I have the scenario now where I have to make fried chicken and this salmonella is driving me nuts. I keep getting the message that there's salmonella in my display case. The chicken, egg and bread all go through the food processor and to a smart arm that is set to pick up only non-spoiled food but the salmonella always manages to get through to the other side of the assembler and i get that message. I've tried setting up a smart arm to pick up only spoiled food but that doesn't work either. If they're going to introduce salmonella into this level, wouldn't it make sense to have some kind of scrubber to clean it out? Or a some kind of garbage disposal? I'm frustrated, have spent my entire evening trying to figure it out!

I should add that the salmonella even persists after the frying machine.

I have a similar setup. All of my raw ingredients including chicken processed, into assembly, and then cooked in its own personal fryer. Despite this, the fried breaded chicken pieces STILL contain salmonella. This ends up contaminating the fries since they share the same packager machine. If anyone knows the solution, I would love to know. The bacteria spawn within seconds and I fail the entire level. The game does a fairly poor job explaining how to handle the problem.

When I had this issue it was because I had my smart arm set to pick up the uncooked chicken.

Well sry for necroing this, but this is somehow still an issue. I don't know what wrong, no matter what I do (put all the stuff on the same conveyor, or get each it's on conveyor) salmonella gets to the customer. There is really a big lack of information in this game how to avoid/fix this.

Use separate line for the chicken. Make sure it gets cooked before being placed anywhere. If yout still have problems, try saving and reloading. The should be no issues afterwards.

Thank you for your answer, I was able to solve it. One problem was the transport, you should never use conveyors when you work with raw chicken and eggs (for breaded chicken). The second problem was the Inserter that tooked the breaded chicken out of the deep fryer, I forgot to use a smart one so he delivered the still raw breaded chicken to the customer.

Apparently, after the salmonella-infected fried chicken gets packaged the salmonella conveniently disappears. How neat.
