How to use wormholes?
On my first game I found a wormhole, but I don't know how to use it. Any hints, please.

Thanks for the question.

If you have a wormhole in a system, you should see a wavy line leading to another system. Assuming the wormhole is open, you should be able to click on your fleet and then click on the system on the other end of the wormhole. Your fleet will be able to travel there in 1 turn. You can also take the wormhole back once you arrive.

This does assume the wormhole is open. They typically are early on, but wormholes can have stability and close eventually. If the wormhole closes (red wavy line), you can no longer travel through it unless you have a colony in the system and build a wormhole stabilizer within it.

The only other way to travel through a closed wormhole is with the "Web Weavers" evolution perk, which is part of the Evolving Empires expansion and specific to the Nova Vida affinity.

Ahh, I should have mentioned that, sorry. In that case, you need to increase your scan level in that system. You can do that through remote exploration of that sector or by sending a survey ship to it. That will reveal the destination of the wormhole so you can travel through it.

Advanced scan will reveal the desintation so you can travel through it. Full scan will reveal its stability (when it will collapse, or if it is permanent).

Thanks, that solved it.
Happy to see these old posts. Am I misunderstanding, or is there a small typo in the following line? "They typically are early on, but wormholes can have stability and close eventually." My translation of that line would be more like this... They typically are early on, but some wormholes can be unstable and close eventually.
@TigerDance: Yes. Because with fixed typo it would be like I know wormholes from 150h ingame experience.

Actually, that they close, is a really interesting feature. Brings some dynamics.

Stupid question: Do wormholes that close also later reopen? Despite my many hours of play, I don't use wormholes much and being red-green color-blind, it's hard for me to tell if they are open or not.
I would say: yes. But just 99% sure. Was there not an turn-indicator how long it would take?
