Is the game dead / abandoned?
The last actual update to the game was way back in August 2024. There's a flurry of blogs, and a road map for 2025, but it doesn't look like anything is making it's way into the game.

i can tell the future ... this game will come like Techtonica

That was my comment on the fact that it will end like Techtonica.

Techtonica was a huge letdown. They had potential, but gave up and made a crappy game. Then all of the devs took our money and gave us a $h1t sandwich without even saying they are sorry.

Okay, moving onto this game. I too share some concern. I understand complexity and how it grows as the game gets bigger. I too have worked with Unity (and Unreal). Unity is a great engine, but it has it's flaws. However, if the Devs are spending 90% of their time to produce 10% of the work, then it might be time to do some soul searching. Almost 5-6 months with no updates pushes this game close to Steams new policy about warning people the EA game might be a scam/money grab and that the devs have stopped working on it. Having a road to 1.0 and a layout of what you "will do" is cool, but at the end of the day, it's still just on paper. It's like saying, My one day, I will go to the moon. But you shovel sh1t for a living.

At some point, they need to release something...maybe something will help those bad steamdb numbers. I do feel like they lost a lot of steam by using Paradox...people don't like to run a game through another installer/manager tool, when the game is on Steam.

I hope this game does not go the way Techtonica went. I really do enjoy this game.

why people diss Technonica? i kinda liked it.. and it seemed finish to me.. dough i have not played it to the end.. but my last base are kinda huge.

It's always been my view that for a finished game—even if it's on Steam—we can't expect developers to keep adding new content forever. However, during Early Access, it's reasonable to expect ongoing updates. Unfortunately, many of the games I own have been abandoned in Early Access.

At least, if I remember correctly, they did take the time to officially release Techtonica, which is something! 😊

The problem with Techtonica is it was rushed out the door as v1.0 while no where near complete, yeah they finished the story line… but that is about all they did.
Eitan (the founder of FHG) said they wanted to keep working on the game, but financial couldn’t.
That game needed to be in development for a few more years… but poor EA sales resulted in a rushed out product.

I have 900 hours in Techtonica, I do like the game, well pre-v1.0, really…
I saw promise in the game, but now… with development cancelled, it’s just an unoptimized, incomplete, shell of a game, in some ways worse than its EA version….
Update 2 on 2024 ..... when ? xD
2024 is over
no update only newspapershit
devs are totaly useless in discord
they are more useless and Lazy than Lazybear Games

Edit: Im not that Guy who make every game bad for others but i hate devs like this one who promise things like a politican to grab money and let the comunity coock

I keep hearing or reading about Paradox from some people. So in my entire gaming history I can't say anything bad about Paradox...I've known this group since the beginning of its existence. And let's be honest, which game doesn't try to...nest itself into a system without permission? - I've seen a lot of games here on Steam and outside of it...that either use a second software (I don't see a problem with that) or "without" telling you, they simply nest themselves in the registry with unidentified software or file (I see that as more of a danger and that kind of thing is annoying).

Techtonica used to be very big... lots of biomes in a very big world... it had the potential to be much more. What they did with 1.0 (only 34 percent completed) - floors upon floors and the game world was reduced from big to small. Nothing was programmed properly... a total rip off

I agree with you there.
Did anybody manage to get his money back?
I wanted to give them another chance with the next patch but there is no patch.
Just somebody doing PR.

We're all still waiting on you to do it.
It's strange how people always expect someone else to be the one to do the thing.
Do you understand that you have to request the refund if you want it refunded to your account?

i would be a little frustrated by the lack of updates if the dev blogs weren't describing some major shifts in gameplay focus that i think the game was kind of desperately needing. it should serve to set itself apart from other factory games, and to keep players interested in actually expanding and optimizing their machines rather than just hitting research milestones.
we're looking at a complete overhaul of the gameplay progression, with the intent of adding a form of economic supply and demand. That's the kind of dynamic gameplay concept that would compliment any factory game, and it's also a concept that i don't think I've ever seen implemented in another factory game.

let them cook.
