Is the game dead / abandoned?

The last actual update to the game was way back in August 2024. There's a flurry of blogs, and a road map for 2025, but it doesn't look like anything is making it's way into the game.

Bei den ganzen News die hier gezeigt werden...denke ich immer wieder an das Spiel: Techtonica....Fast identische infos....bis die spielemacher von techtonica, das Spiel dann aufgegeben hatten....Was soll ich sagen? - Bin über 50 jahre alt, also sollte ich Gedult haben....Ich bin guter Hoffnung und Warte bis ende Februar 2025 - Wenn sich bis dahin nichts getan hat an dem Spiel, Dann ist es im Stich gelassen worden und die Spieler wurden nur hingehalten.....Hoffe, ich Irre mich.

It worked with Bless Online, Helldivers 2 (when they wanted to link it with Sony) and a few more. Recently I only remember Concord.

If devs refuse do work on a game entirely and do not release a statement we might be eligible.
Factorio devs were resting on their laurels as well but at least they have the Friday Facts.

The entitlement of modern gamers baffles me. :conwayheadscratch:

When I see a mediocre Satisfactory that has exactly the same face and the same content as during its early access and that it has remained in EA for so long, only getting praise and Foundry that from the first release offers more interesting things than Satisfactory getting sh1tt1storm because the devs apply the strategy of the big update every few months.
it's beyond me. Maybe the devs have affectedly given up. But just because your game supposedly comes out of an EA finished doesn't mean it's actually finished or that it actually had any new features... right Satisfactosh1t ?

If the next update comes and it's significant, I'll bring this topic back up, it'll be fun.

I don't think he got a refund (unless he was under-played). Because if he did, then Valve would be out of business now... because then everyone would get it.

I was more checking in because I noticed lack of engagement on their YouTube posts (not really even likes), which felt a bit dead. I'm good with waiting, knew that when I bought the game, but given that y'all are fighting over here tells me the engagement is a YouTube thing, not an overall thing. *Phew* I'll take a slow burn over abandonment any day (it's not like we're wanting for factory games anyways)

Ich hab es in einen anderen Thread schon angesprochen das game ist nichts weiter als Cashgrap die bilder und Videos der NEWS sind scheinbar KI generiert worden
es gibt ja nichtmal ne experimentele Version zum probieren oder sonstiges
ich hab die hoffnung da schon lange aufgegeben.

Dauert eh nicht mehr lange, dann wird Steam...das Spiel schon Sichtbar kennzeichnen, das es keine Update mehr gegen hat ( muss nur 1 jahr vergehen ) - Verstehe eh nicht, das es welche hier gibt, die das spiel immer noch bejubeln ( Vielleicht arbeiten diese ja für die Entwickler ) - Du hörst und siehst nichts von denen auser ein paar bildchen und angebliche Fortschritte.

im Discord wirst gleich nieder gemacht wenn mal fragst wie es mit Updates aussieht und hier im Forum bekommen die Entwickler die klappe nicht auf weil sie wissen das sie contra bekommen
bei solchen Entwicklern ist es echt mal notwendig ne sammel klage aufzumachen
wenn das spiel nur 2 Euro kostet ist mir das egal
aber 25 Euro verlangen und dann nix machen ist unterirdisch

I do not think its dead.. they just take their time on that huge update they keep write about..

but i get people inkluded me that want to start a new savegame.. but are waiting for this update get impatient :) .... tonz of dev logs show they atleast good at write logs and make plans... and i have no dobt that they will add those plans to the game itself... this is a great game.. and way to good to abandon :)

It's one of the slowest developing games on Steam, that's for sure. While many games say in EA for a while, they are also updated rather frequently.

I thought that since it is produced by Paradox, it would at least be getting consistent updates.

May 2024 - game release, followed by a few hotfixes
Aug 2024 - first update
March 2025 - *chirp*


While the game may not necessarily be "dead" or "abandoned", the updating of the game sure is.

Weekly "notes" about the game are irrelevant, particularly when months go by without any actual changes to the game itself.

I enjoyed the game when it first came out, but can't bring myself to play it further. Progress is just far too slow, and game has become far too boring with what exists now.
