my map has plenty 6 nodes just on this section of my map.
Did you make a long range scanner to help find you more?
I usually play these games with unlimited resources as well, but I am rather impressed with Foundry's amount of materials from each resource patch. The starter patches last practically forever and the second patch you find of each is always bigger and lasts even longer. I have 100+ hours in the game now and have started multiple games (4?) and only burnt through the starter patches once and that is getting all the way to modular buildings.
It will be nice to have the option to increase the amount of resources, as the more you can play the game the way you want, the better, but honestly, the finite resources have yet to bug me at all since you get so much out of them already. The update is tomorrow, Tuesday, btw.
The long range scanner does 100x100 on its max range so put the first one down around the center of your main factory then once it maxed its range build one at the edges of that radius if you need more resources to scan and find for your input needs.
The square resources on the map are basic versions of the ores that are not able to be fracked, the hexagon versions are the veins where you can implement a fracking tower and covert them to unlimited use.
Currently the only resource that is not unlimited but able to stretched out with pure research is crude oil and in the upcoming update we will get the liquid cargo ships that should make bringing it in from around the map a lot easier than just spamming pipes everywhere (same goes for moving fracking oil to your veins).
