I like the idea but I feel with how you normally build a bus, you could very easily achieve this without such a feature.
Usually you leave at least 1-2 free spaces inbetween the belt busses anyhow so you could easily two splitters in and just lead one off into a ramp. It would be such a minor change that I doubt it will make that big of a difference other than players using a smidge more ressources early game.
And if you look at that screenshot you'll notice that they have a ramp up to split things off. Personally I prefer leaving a one gap space between lanes as it makes it easier if you need to split off things from multiple adjacent lanes, but either way works.
