On the surface, you don't have to relocate the entire factory, just run new belts and power foundations to the new nodes and feed everything back to your initial base.
I think finite ores works in games like Factorio where you have a birdseye view - not so much in games like this.
I agree with you about the sliders. Configurable options are important in games like this imo. I'm torn between this and Techtonica because it just released an update with a huge amount of startup scenario options.
But you need olumite (oil) to make the Fracking liquid, so the only thing you will have to keep expanding for is Olumite, which it’s so bad.
Maybe in the future you can make sell your robots/drones for fracking liquids…
Or turn firmalite into it.
I doubt that. I prefer that the ore depletes, Because later on you can get unlimited ore, and the ore nodes do last a long while, and since its an unlimited map you can find tons of it, its really not that hard to bring more ore to your smelting facility and no you don't and shouldn't move your entire base around each ore vein, its far easier to have an area with your smelters that you can expand as needed and bring the ore to it, first with belts, then cargo ships later on.
It didn't kill Dyson Sphere Program.
It won't kill this.
It actually DOES seem like the veins get bigger, but not by any substantial amount, and they cap in size around 10KM away (if they actually do get bigger, that is, it's hard to tell exactly because they are in weird shapes and the game doesn't tell you how much is in a single vein).
The only thing I would say needs adjusting is Technum and Xenoferrite usage in early game. everything I needed to make needed lots of plates or steel, Rods or Technum ore seem under utilized
