That said, aside from being first person 3D, I'd say thats the only real Satisfactory comparison. Mechanics wise this has much more in common with Factorio , Astrocolony and Dyson Sphere Project really; if they were set in a Minecraft'esqe voxel world. additional similarities include:
Finite resource nodes that will eventually deplete
Use of loaders / unloaders to move materials through machines
Tech tree unlocks requiring the use of "science packs"
Easier to manage and place machinery (it all snaps to a grid with pre-defined dimensions: 3x3 , 2x2, 5x5 etc)
The one thing Foundry has going for it is the procedural world, so you won't have the same layout with a new game start, but on the other side you won't have the beautifully, handcrafted world that Satisfactory has.
I also prefer the logistics in Satisfactory, especially trains. Foundry might add trains later, but is is still lacking a lot in terms of logistics compared to satisfactory.
All in all, Satisfactory is more fleshed out, but that does not mean that Foundry won't be by the time Early Access ends. For now I prefer Satisfactory.
A last point I do not like about Foundry is that the devs blatantly copied many of Satisfactory systems and game mechanics, almost 1:1. Its in my opinion plagiarism.
I do hate loaders though, in this and DSP. I prefer Satisfactory here (although I'm biased towards inserters, I don't think they'd work in first person).
Also lol at those suggesting plagiarism of Satisfactory of all things.
By that logic Satisfactory plagriarised Factorio lol
Every First person shooter plagiarised Doom.
Every fantasy game is plagiarising Tolkien and Lord of the Rings.
I haven't bought this game, considering it but ... there are huge obvious difference between Satisfactory and Factorio, visually and gameplay wise. To be honest at first glance I thought this was some form of Satisfactory DLC.
There's nothing wrong with being similar even *very* similar and at least on the surface this appears pretty similar.
Can anyone please confirm this
