Satisfactory vs This
For the ones played both, can you tell me what are the key differences making this game more appealing, or less?

I liked Satisfactory a lot, but was overwhelming mostly mid-late game due to time needed to build late components and building an orderly factory was a pain since engine physics and bugs were not helpful to "replace" built units. Once you place something, it's difficult to rebuild it again with another tier, knowing there will be another tier afterwards as well.

So what does this game does better or worse in your opinion?

Let's see, this game Voxel, Procedural generated. Terrafoming of land. Non of which satisfactory has. This has a bigger and more complex research tree and a lot of building. But you can delete a machine and get it back with no penalty. Great game IMO.

you can upgrade just by placing the higher teir over the lower teir, even whole belt lines. id also say the early game grind is soooo little compared to satisfactory collecting leaves forever, you have to do some here but you get lots of fuel from trees which you can mine straight away. i can say its very very easy to expand the base so making mid game/late game stuff should be a lot less tedious, so far im enjoying it more than satisfactory, the factories we will see in a week or a few will look amazing, satisfactory kinds has basic cosmetics and everything is just yellow/orange

Minor point of correction in Satisfactory: you can change the color of the factories and machines so it's not just orange.

That said, aside from being first person 3D, I'd say thats the only real Satisfactory comparison. Mechanics wise this has much more in common with Factorio , Astrocolony and Dyson Sphere Project really; if they were set in a Minecraft'esqe voxel world. additional similarities include:

Finite resource nodes that will eventually deplete
Use of loaders / unloaders to move materials through machines
Tech tree unlocks requiring the use of "science packs"
Easier to manage and place machinery (it all snaps to a grid with pre-defined dimensions: 3x3 , 2x2, 5x5 etc)

Satisfactory & coffee stain studio continue to add content to their game still today, no endless DLC bull!@ . This is a paradox game, avoid at all costs !

Theres nothing new here. They used the same names, the same descriptions, the same progression path, the same resources, the same quanitities, the same delivery system. It's like looking in the mirror. But I suppose voxels - so like Minecraft building + Satisfactory. That is legit the only difference. I can't imagine this would be in litigation soon and pulled from the store - if I were Coffee Stain studios, the only thing I can think of is the same devs are double dipping out of from 2 different companies.

I am missing an endgame in Foundry. There is no real challenge in this game its just endless building. Exploration in Satisfactory is far superior and with the campaign and fleshed out story coming in Satisfactory 1.0 soon, it will likely be superior in that category as well. You also do not have any other challenges such as hostile fauna or fall damage or any danger whats however in Foundry. So at times it can get boring if you do nothing but building. I am missing the variety in Foundry.

The one thing Foundry has going for it is the procedural world, so you won't have the same layout with a new game start, but on the other side you won't have the beautifully, handcrafted world that Satisfactory has.

I also prefer the logistics in Satisfactory, especially trains. Foundry might add trains later, but is is still lacking a lot in terms of logistics compared to satisfactory.

All in all, Satisfactory is more fleshed out, but that does not mean that Foundry won't be by the time Early Access ends. For now I prefer Satisfactory.

A last point I do not like about Foundry is that the devs blatantly copied many of Satisfactory systems and game mechanics, almost 1:1. Its in my opinion plagiarism.

Critters are coming to foundry it’s in the road map, first they do nothing then eventually they will matter to game.

I haven't played a ton but it doesn't really seem any different beyond procedural map/limited resources (up until a point I guess). Which is why I have it, since I can't be bothered to restart a factory on the same Satisfactory map again until it's out of EA.

I do hate loaders though, in this and DSP. I prefer Satisfactory here (although I'm biased towards inserters, I don't think they'd work in first person).

Also lol at those suggesting plagiarism of Satisfactory of all things.

For real, this looks like much worse plagiarism than Palworld lol at least they copied from more than 2 games! Even the game image on the store is obviously copied from Satisfactory's, same font and placement and obvious copy.. Very shameless.

By that logic Satisfactory plagriarised Factorio lol

Every First person shooter plagiarised Doom.

Every fantasy game is plagiarising Tolkien and Lord of the Rings.

I haven't bought this game, considering it but ... there are huge obvious difference between Satisfactory and Factorio, visually and gameplay wise. To be honest at first glance I thought this was some form of Satisfactory DLC.

There's nothing wrong with being similar even *very* similar and at least on the surface this appears pretty similar.
