On the contrary, you'll have something to do, and you'll have a challenge; otherwise, it'll be an empty kind of puzzle game. It will be boring to just "automate" stuff without a purpose. To what end are we building? If you don't have anything to overcome, it really matters anything you do?
Sorry but no, it not appeal to me at the moment, it's like a re-skin or mod of an existing game. Why to have another "do the same thing" game as hundreds of games?
After 2010, it seems game devs forgot what a "game designer" is.
With respect to the devs, because we know it is a lot of work and commitment. The game probably will not have a future; you can already read the game dev response; there is no clear path. But we wish them the best in the future.
To be fair, noone cares about what you like and will you buy it or no. I'm a huge Factorio fan myself, but I'm not a prick like you and accept others opinion. If he likes bright colors then good for him. If he wants to spend HIS money on Foundry, he will spend his money on Foundry and there is nothing you can do about it. Not that you should, it's his money and if he can do w/e he wants with it and I'll be happy for him if he will have a good time with the game in any way. People like you are the reason the society is so fcked up. You think you have some rights that allow you to tell people what's good or bad. There are millions that would absolutely hate Factorio and call it boring and it's fine, they have the right to have their opinion. I personally find GTA super boring, but I'm able to understand that others aren't like me and enjoy the game and I'm fine with that. You as a person made me literally hate Factorio in some way even though I love this game, but forcing anybody to like what you enjoy is just a big no no. Plz go on some kind of social therapy or w/e and don't use public forums until you are mature enough to respect other people.
Cheers and I wish everyone a great day ^^
All people have to decide if it is the right game or not for itself.
I like the style and played the demo alot and i do not need enemies. I will take a deeper look after the release date again. But I like what i see, I did not play Minecraft because I don't like the look, but Foundry is some smoother look and feel.
We will see what it will be, good or bad.
I have played Satis around 800 hours over the last year's too and like it.
Factorio is not the game what I have played alot because of the enemies, and it was to much stress for me.
Just my 50ct
So.. is this going to be like Fortresscraft Evolved?
This game is (in my opinion) a better version of "FortessCraft Evolved". This game was abandoned bugged but was a better "Minecraft".

- Factorio
- Satisfactorio
- Dyson Sphere Program

I am very much hoping that this game is a brighter, cleaner, bug free successor to Fortresscraft Evolved.
If you don't think you'll like it, that's fine.
It's impossible for any game to be liked by everybody.
But like you said, there are plenty of others that you can get enjoyment from.
Funny that you think it's fine to dislike a game others like but seem to hate when somebody dislikes a game that you like. Bit hypocritical. Not every game can be liked by every player.
I think Factorio was great, but I didn't like satisfactory either. Some say this is a knockoff of Satisfactory, well how isn't Satisfactory a knockoff of Factorio? I recall a lot of that going around when satisfactory was new. Before you get offended, think of your opinion of Foundry and how you're here complaining about it as if you need to justify not liking it. You don't see me going to the Satisfactory discussions and talking about how I don't like it, right? I just ignore the game and play the games that I do like.
I did defend Satisfactory when it was new, and will continue to do so despite not liking it. The games aren't simple knockoffs, the developers saw the previous games and made changes to fit a different design and preference.
Factorio was 2d, Satisfactory took it and made it 3d.
Satisfactory had a limited static map, Dyson Sphere took that and made it based in space with maps spread across planets to give more area than you can use.
Foundry took a combination of Factorios unlimited map and combined it with the 3d perspective of Satisfactory with the voxel landscape of Minecraft.
Each game builds on the existing to offer a different experience.
