Are Ignium Fuel Rods worth producing?
I currently use Ignium Ore Rubble to power the boilers/steam engines. It's cheap and easy. I realize Ignium Fuel Rods have 10x more fuel value than the rubble (100 vs 10), but is it worth the resources and time it takes to create that sub-factory for the fuel rods?

I've been increasing my solar arrays to eventually take over all ignium fuel based power, but it's slow going.

ignium fuel rods are a horrible waste of materials. the 400 fuel alone would make 13ish portable fuel, worth 165MJ alone

I hope, they'll fix that soon. Also Ignium Ore (Crusher recipe) has the same fuel value as Ignium Ore Rubble (10MJ)

The little canister next to the Jet fuel is a good idea to produce a lot of for power production if you want to use Steam Turbines. You'll have more than enough oil fields in your area and using up one takes quite a bit of time. So just take one or two for power alone.

Solar Power + Batteries are though the best option.
Just be sure to have excessive amount of them.

it seems like it only exists cause they wanted to make a more portable fuel option; after all, if you put two large transformers down and it blows the grid ; but i'm not sure why you'd stick to it when you can spam solar and power poles down...

put the large transformers on the same HV grid and it will work fine

sorry. i tried to place them again today and i must had something causing a power bug, i have two large and one small and they wouldn't turn on for nothing yesterday after i placed them. but they're working fine on the same grid today...

Seems like Large batteries and small batteries have the same capacity. 1500 MJ

small is 250, large is 1000; so for 4 smalls you get 1k, in the same space 2 large gets you 2k. small is 2x3, large is 3x5.

i've mine hooked up like this for now, soon as i can tunnel without loosing the will to live over the slowness i'll push 1.21GW of them deeper than Khazad-dûm.

Thanks. I was looking at the panel, not realizing that Total Battery Capacity refers to all connected batteries.. DUH...

Big game changer: mods on DIscord. The most popular one Unfoundry has a mod that makes mining happen in a split second, regardless of ground type. Makes the game much more fun as you can terraform at will.

Also can turn off Day/Night cycle so it's always day. Batteries won't charge all day, they charge like normal as time still progresses. But it's always light out so you don't need the outdoor lights any more. Almost a different game with these 2 big changes.

I think this title deserves an update. With the latest patch, fuel rods are now 400 MJ and looks viable, compared to required resources which is worth a total of 253.3 MJ.

Also don't forget that casings are reusable so you'll be only wasting wires, which is worth 5 rods, compared to 13 plates for the same amount of fuel and get almost double the energy.
