Is anyone else having memory issues?
So, I've been playing this with a friend since release day. Just the two of us, so no huge multiplayter server or anything. Started off connecting directly to one another and that didn't feel great so we paid for one of the official servers that you can rent through the link in the in-game menu. They had four options to choose from. 2 GB RAM for up to 2 players, 4 GB RAM for up to 4 players, 6 GB RAM for up to 8 players, and 8 GB RAM for up to 16 players. We chose the cheapest one because we're not planning to play with more than two players. We're just about to be done with all the research that requires science IV and about to get into science V, and the server is constantly sitting at 2.15-2.20 / 2.00 RAM, and goes down maybe once every 30 minutes or so. Needless to say, it's starting to become a bit of a bummer, doesn't make for a great playtime really. We considered upgrading to 4 GB RAM, but I mean, if we keep playing, it's only a matter of time until our base is twice as big as it is now, and then we have the same problem all over again. Does the optimization of this game need some work before endgame factories are even possible in multiplayer, or am I missing something here? Is anyone else experiencing similar issues?

I hope there's some way to solve this other than forking over the cash for a very expensive server, because the game itself has been great so far.

Yes, I am in single player and the game is using up to 12Gb or ram on it's own. It was crashing my system because I only had 16Gb installed. I just upgraded to 32Gb and now I can see how much it is actually using. I used the F9 key in game to send in a report. The game is a RAM hog.

discord discussion mentioned that the devs are looking into the ram usage and it shouldn't be using so much.
also said to f9 report any saves that are doing so, like you did.

Thanks, when I was on discord no devs were on and no one had been having issues that was on. I needed to upgrade anyway. Glad to know it's not just me though.

What's 4gb? RAM for ants? ;)

In all seriousness, I have 32gigs of ram on my main rig and i'm considering upgrading to 64... ram is cheap and any bozo trying to take your arm and leg for few gigabytes is shafting you... just saying.

Even my NAS has 192gb of ram (server memory is cheap when you're using one generation old stuff), times 2 because it has hot spares for every stick.. so I don't see how anyone could be brazen enough to take serious money for few gigabytes... :D
