Each Small Transformer has a cap of 5 MW, if you need more going to your LVG, place more transformers.
The large Transformers does 25 MW.
But yes you are suppose to run power cables and poles to new location and use a transformer on the new power floors
When I place a second transformer it overloads. How do you properly place more than one?
I tested a disconnected platform and that worked fine, but my factory isn't setup that way. Nothing that I saw hinted at this being the wrong way to build. Suppose I should start thinking about separate floors in a multi-tier structure.
I'll be able to work around it. It is kind of a punch in the face that I could see turning people away early on in the game.

All I can think of is you don't have enough Steam gens running to power them.
huh, maybe that is my issue. After I was only getting 5KW on 4 steam turbine strung together I tried to fix that by building 1 transformer for each steam turbine. Didn't expect them to stop working completely. I also didn't have the transformers connected to each other. Thank you for your screenshot. I have some more testing to do.
