Underground Liquid Pumping
Is there a good way to pump liquids to the surface from deep below or is it best to refine them underground? Thanks.

no dont refine undearground...try to move all the raw materials to one spot and there refine them! Fluids in this game kinda act like in real life...so if you want to pump the fluid upvards say 30 40 m try building a tank then from the tank go for the rest

devs said height doesn't matter just distance, and You can go a long way without needing a pump.

How do you know when you need a pump?

Here is where Mr McDuck kinda answered this...

but it really didn't explain it, but a lot of people said they went like 400 to 600 meters with no issues on throughput... someone going to test this at some point, for now basically add a pump if you start having issues with it.

I really don’t feel like making 400 feet of pipe. I was hoping there was something for liquids like The freight elevator. I’ll just refine things underground thanks :-)

automate the pipe and come back to 800+ ready to place

Since you need pipe for green science, you should have this automated anyway

I know how to automate making pipe. That is not the issue.

I would like a freight elevator type option for liquids that doesn't require me digging and placing long runs of vertical pipes but that doesn't exist so I will make do and make long ass pipes if I must.

Thanks everyone ;)

I see your point. In a world of freight elevators pipes feel too basic, but also like... I'm pretty sure that is how we'd do it. They could always add like a freight tank that occupies one whole elevator or something.
(I'm assuming freight elevators are large batch cargo movers? I haven't gotten there yet.)

freight elevators have a tooltip listed rate. they will move that rate in each direction, up and down. tier2 belts max out the first freight elevator tier, tier 3 the second.

Going up is pretty easy. Clear a path from top to bottom then stand on the pipe or block when you place it. You automatically get bumped in the air and can quickly go up even very long distances.

A freight elevator is basically a vertical belt that you place the top and bottom pieces of and it magically bridges them together at any height. It is very handy for solids and I would love an option for pipes to work like this vertically.
