Am I going to ever make robots?
So, this could be a stupid question, but I bought this game because I am a big fan Of Satisfactory and Techtonica, but also because of this sentence in the description,

"Land on an unexplored planet and design a giant automated robot production facility under the watchful direction of your AI friend, Carl."

did i misunderstand this, or will i eventually be producing robots? I dont know why, but that was a big selling poitn for me

it's more of a "you're making purple science now" sorta thing, you sell small bots and you-sized robots to make a currency you then melt down for purple science. but yeah, one of the 'modular' buildings is a robot construction line you setup. i haven't done it cause i don't need to yet.

Yes, you eventually get to build a whole assembly line for making robots. Unfortunately the robots themselves don't really do anything, they're just fancy vendor trash that you use to get a late game crafting material.

The Assembly line is tier 4, yellow science, you’ll get there in time.
But here’s the funny thing, you really don’t have to make it. Just the bots sell for more Firmalite than the Maintenance drones.
Tier 5 Purple Science, let’s you increase efficiency of your miners and Pumpjacks over and over.

Also The Assembly line, while technically Modular, but unlike the Radio tower and Long Range scanner, that the Construction ship builds, you make and place sections yourself.
I’m a bit disappointed in it, as the is no cool sound effects as the bots are being made.
Plus c3-bb is bugged and won’t complete the task.

Tbh I kinda lost the drive to continue once I researched every purple science thing besides the two endless mining efficiency ones.
I didnt even bother with doing fracking and Blast Furnace smelting, because by the time I got there, every research was done.
That's a huge problem with games that put the good stuff at the very end. Once you get there, you dont need it anymore.
I didnt even hook up the Xeno vein miners and never bothered setting up the Technum vein miners, because the patches I used were enough and also those transportation drones are stupidly huge and cumbersome to set up.
Vein mining could be put earlier in the tech tree imo and have a good reason for setting up Blast Furnaces and assembly lines besides getting more firmalit. Like a meaningful goal, maybe earn x amount of firmalit or sell x amount of robots, so that it definitely would deplete the nearby patches and you're forced to set up vein miners and Blast Furnaces to get going.
Also a reason I stopped is the low throughput of the Vein Miners. A measely 160/m when you already have access to 640 belts.... all while a Blast furnace takes 1280 ore/m.... rough.

Yeah you make a big assembly line that ends in a warehouse and sell them to get a resource that can’t be otherwise obtained and is used in their production so the more you make and sell the more you will be able to produce and sell like a nice growth cycle. Also has a side effect of increasing science pack production
