How much running is there? Any auto-run?

Ok this might sound kinda dumb, but I recently played Planet Crafter, and the amount and distance of running one has to do in that game is ridiculous. Completely ruined the game for me. And there's no auto-run feature, so you literally will be holding the W key down for like, 90% of your gameplay time.

Does Foundry have tons and tons of running with no auto-run feature? I can deal with a lot of problems, but huge open world games with slow running and no auto-run feature are a deal breaker for me.

Yeah you going to be running or flying with the Jetpack a lot, there are speed boosts on the jetpack that help. The only other travel option is the hopping on a cargo ship to ride it to it's stop. There is no auto-run

There is no auto-run, but you can toggle sprint to always be on so you're not holding down the W key AND the shift key at the same time. There's also an auto-climb toggle so you don't have to constantly press the spacebar.

To be honest, though, you don't have to run THAT far. All the resources you would ever need can be found within 5K of your starting location.

i have stuff that's all 2.5km away form the base center, the amount of walking is what i'd call tedious. the jetpack isn't much faster. then, say you don't want pipes to be 100m in the sky, you got to drill, and the laser drill isn't faster then the hand miner and it's a slog. once the stuff is up, the pain eases unless you see a production issue and have to go find out you didn't spam enough solar out somewhere and are running a 4 hour gap on production... also, i don't see any liquid stuff outside of pipes, so, yeah. the initial investment in walking and mining is high right now.
