Mining Efficiency useless for ore veins?
Hey guys,

I am wondering if pumping resources into the Mining Efficiency research makes sense.
When I reached fracking I only ever tapped 3 Xenoferrite and 2 Technum deposits. Also 2 Ignium and 1 Mineral Rock.

Now I have self sufficient outposts on veins with deep miners that constantly yield 160 resources and only ever deplete if I run out of oil for fracking liquid.

Mining Efficiency does not seem to affect deep miners in terms of throughput where it could make sense even if this would mess up my elevator settings.

Going for deposits makes not sense anymore because I am not placing airfields and energy just for a short period.

The ore vein miner is limited to 160 because it has a built in mk1 belt that can’t go past it.
I’m guessing you still get bonus, (I don’t know if it uses less fracking liquid because of it) you just won’t notice it.

@Fenix
I'm not so sure about the belt. I noticed the belt in the drill is originally blue (perhaps T4 belt?) but it adjusts itself to whatever is connected to it. My guess is the limit is artifical set by the drill not limited by the belt.

Please keep in mind the mining efficiency applies itself on "how much ore is subtracted from the voxel" but it is hard to check. You need to measure the voxel the drill/drones are working on.

It would be nice if there are unlimited researches for Mining/Drilling speed increasing the output per minute.

Ok I looked yea the belt color does change.
and the screen does give the speed, and Fracking liquid it uses. so,
I'm guessing The Mining boost would only effect the blocks that aren't the part of the core, So once you get to the core Mining Efficiency is pointless.
Dump your Science Packs into the Pumpjack.

Maybe it needs a test. Shutdown the drill. Connect a fracking fluid pipe. Fill the pipe to max. Disconnect a pipe-segment and measure how long the fluid last. Maybe the consumption rate of the fracking fluid is effected or the usage is the same but more ore is generated. This test could prove that.

But I have to agree here. A little more transparency on these issues would be nice.
