What is the point of incinerator?
I have researched and built an incinerator thinking it would do somethign different then the destroy option in your inventory., but it doesnt it consumes power to destroy things. So I'm confused as to why I would need that. I hope I'm missing something, otherwise it was just wasted research.

automation? not much use for it besides slag disposal, but apparently that can be flared off as liquid so hmm

To kill off overflow I would assume. Anywhere you have two outputs or a line that has to always be moving and can't afford to be backed up. It is nice to have as an option, even if I will never likely need it *knock on wood*.

Hm interesting, are you mixing content in same line? I'm not sure I see where its an issue to have a backup line.

I use the central bus style of wares distribution where you have a line and branch off of it when needed. So backed up lines are never an issue.

Always happy to learn new ways, so feel free to share what the cases would be where this would applicable.

I have mostly played with stuff just to see how things work, so I'm not sure of what besides this example produces multiple solid outputs:

Ingium fuel rods when spent in a boiler produce a fuel rod casing which can be recycled back into fuel rod production or incinerated. Like empty containers in Satisfactory when dealing with packaged liquids if you're familiar, though resource nodes in are infinite in that one.

Though at the moment it's not worth making fuel rods vs portable fuel.

I always find it funny that the factory games where you need this, you don't have it (without mods) and games where you do have this building, you don't need it. IMO, there's no recipe chains that should require this, except maybe to destroy slag as concrete.

You need it for the last supply chain to do with blast furnace. You should turn slag to concrete and then only burn the excess to stop it backing up.

Thanks for the info, not that far yet, but its still weird that you can unlock it so early where its not needed at all.

Use a flare stack instead for the slag. For now at least... We did the math on discord. 7.1_ chemical processors for ~35 cement per minute. If the plan is to just get rid of it in an incinerator it's better to use a flare stack which can handle all the slag. It might not be a lot if you're end-game levels of power but might as well save some.

The game physics are funny. You can even flare the molten xanoferrite/ technium. That can't be good for the environment :steammocking:
