1. Ran into a bug: If you dig straight down and put a block below yourself you fall through the world. Thankfully after 5 seconds the game dropped me above ground in the same spot and there was no fall damage.
2. Would love a wider range of building materials. I was definitely missing glass. Materials unique to each biome and depth would be cool and would encourage exploration / digging.
3. Transportation! Trains and people movers please!
Demo is alot of fun for just a demo!
SECONDED ! Much of the text is so small it is hard to read, or isn't noticed at all. The sound the machines make is loud and not pleasing at all. Yes I adjusted audio trying to correct the issue but lowering it enough totally removes some other sounds, please normalize.
On the upside, I'll say the number-crunching felt better here than in Satisfactory.
On the downside... I don't know why I am doing all the stuff I'm doing. There's no goal, but there also isn't an "enjoyment" side of things you can progressively unlock and partake on as you progress through the tech. There's no milestones, there's no car, there's no world to wow me as I go around (as far as I went, all I could see looked samey and void of content, so I just went back and sat in the base for hours).
Being able to dig into the ground is neat but also serves no purpose. The world being on a grid isn't really making a difference to it not being or only your buildings being snappable.
All in all I would recommend these elements are thought through first before you just end up making another game where you just line up numbers for days on end for no purpose or reason leaving me feeling empty on the inside, minus the good music and awesome vistas.
Also, I don't enjoy falling down a whole block to the side when walking off a surface.
I don't see why containers can't all be logistics enabled by default. Coming from factorio, this feels REALLY bad. So do mono-lane belts, but that's probably something that can't possibly be changed.
I don't like that loaders require power even when idle.
It would be nice if more of the technology was more consolidated. Researching individual things feels bad.
It would be nice if different lane loaders were combinable, that is, if I could make loaders for different lanes occupy the same space.
I really want a crouch/sneak button like MineCraft has. Hopefully get a little lower clearance than MineCraft's version, but with the same "don't fall down blocks" function.
I would *LOVE* a zoomed-out overhead camera. Even if I couldn't build anything in it. The map doesn't quite have enough detail, and doesn't really zoom in enough.
It would be nice to be able to not just rotate but also mirror things we build. Off-hand I can only remember it presenting a nuisance with the drone mining stations, but I'm sure there are some other asymmetric buildings, right?
Conveyor belts snapping together in long lines is good, but if you want to turn corners you have to stop, rotate the belt, then keep going. But worse is trying to build raised belts, as new conveyor sections are extremely difficult to snap on the ramps if they're in mid-air.
There's also no way to split an existing belt without deleting 2 sections and placing a load balancer in?
Having to build out foundations to enable power transfer from generators is weird, and inconvenient if your first fuel node isn't very close by. Maybe this issue isn't as bad once you've started paving more of the planet.
But in any event, it looks like you need to start combining that "fuel" with another resource to craft things further into the tech tree not long after? With limited resources and no other node available, how do I decide how much to turn into an alloy and how much do I use for power? Can I ruin my run if I get it wrong?
And the research takes so long, even at the start. Even if you've got enough research pods. It wouldn't be a problem if there was other things you could be building in that time, like setting up a new mining node or something. But often you're just waiting for the next research to be done.
It all feels just a little too grindy and slow to get started. Even if it speeds up later it's too annoying to get to that point, so I won't. :(
maybe add UI control hints and game pad detection to change the hints that are displayed.
more feedback later after i play more.
With few monitors, the cursor is not locked to the game in windowed or full screen mode (unless there is a setting for that which i'm missing) so when i turn the character, cursor goes to one of the other screens and i click things outside of the game.
