How long can you sell the first car?
TLDR: You are your own competition so no need to rush new designs. Just improve your sales teams. I just hired 5 salesman right away then fired 4 of them so I could unlock sales training. Karl Benz is the GOAT....

My first few runs I replaced the three wheel Karl Benz Motorwagen right away with the next tier because sales fell flat. Research seemed to progress really fast and I found myself selling 1930s cars before 1900......

This run I decided to just not release new designs and see how long I can sell the first few cars for. Its 1891 and ive sold 175 three wheelers so far and they sell as quick as I can make them now. "I was selling maybe 25 before replacing it"

I rushed sales training, brand popularity boosts, advertisements and the repair workshop. Sales did tank for a bit and I had to drop the price to near break even but now they are all excellent quality and being sold by level 15 salesman at 250% markup no problem at all.

This makes me wonder just how long I could sell the first car for. Once the release date bonus is at 1% not much else seems to change. There is still demand and with a good enough sales team it seems they can sell anything.

This also now has me holding off on any further research until I feel historically the next tier would be unlocked.

To clarify: The first car hardly makes any money so I sell its alternate 4 wheel version and one of the sport roadsters along side the Karl Benz which is where 90% of my profit comes from. I'll stop selling the Karl Benz once I use up all 6 sales slots. It feels there is zero need to release new designs until I feel like it historically makes sense.

Was thinking about this too. I usually stock up some cars of every model before starting to sell them and do advertisement on them while producing a buffer of cars before releasing it. I have stopped production when relsease date popularity gain is down to about 15%. That way I run out of cars and stop selling them around 2-3%

But doing it this way will make me run out of car models to research too soon. So guess I have to keep selling each model much longer.

I've been selling a model for over 15 years at 225% and can't keep up with production. they're buying faster than I can produce. i've now developed 16 models that aren't even in production yet because the old ones are still doing so well.

Really, I don't get enough people comming to outsell production, in my last game I have unlocked most sales things. And I start selling at 250% at release, then as I take a car out of production I gradually reduce it down to 200% or 150% if I only have one left and want to clear the sales slot.

I use 2 lines with 6 assambly stations with robots at some stations. Then 3 repair stations to get quallity up, most cars are excellent after repair station. Doesn't take too long to have 30 cars of each model in stock. And my sales are mostly successful, there just isnt enough people comming to outsell production. I even had to expand my area to have room for enough parking spots.
And I have 21% bonus from reputation. But I make alot of money so I guess its ok. Just worried I will run out of models to research. Im on Tier 5 and its only like 1895.

A little confused about the level of workers, cause on some menues its listed as strenght. So kind of sounds like level is just stamina and not really his skill in selling.

I keep sending the workers for training and now have everyone, whether researchers, porters or mechanics, at level 8. only the drivers can't be upgraded. as far as sales are concerned, it's really the case that customers are beating down my door and buying faster than cars are coming off the production line. there are always between 4 and 8 customers in the sales area waiting until a car is in the parking lot.

It's pretty broken/unbalanced.
I literally just cranked up 400% markup on all cars. Eventually they will start selling, assuming once popularity hits a certain number to increase the chances.

I've been playing a game where the style or design of car is not researched until the game gets to that year. I'm at the beginning of 1930's cars are coming out to 40 models.

Now I haven't played in a while, I just came back to check out the new stuff. But my game won't play correctly now. I have to lower the prices down to 20% before anyone would buy anything. Now they won't buy anything again. I might have to start over.
