Pause buildings
I play this game since this morning. Have take a look at video's at you tube. But is there a way, to pause the working buildings? So if you don't make anything there, that you can pause them, and use the workers (who are not working in the working buildings like academy or kiln) for getting recourses?

I don't believe so.

There's a Town Center research that gives you back all resources when deconstructing buildings, so once you have that you can deconstruct buildings that aren't needed to "pause" them. Still would be nice if they added a pause button.

Yeah, I was asking for the exact same thing in another thread...

And the screwed up answers I am getting there are that this is "as designed". If it is as designed it is a bad design lol. The game is built around population work controls - it is a significant and major mechanic to send people to the surface, how many of each and to what resources. Yet you can't do the exact same thing with the population in your city buildings. Seems a missing interaction. Hopefully it is coming in a patch soon.

It is indeed an intentional design choice. We treat workers assigned to buildings as professionals permanently assigned to their jobs unless you destroy that building. Workers are more akin to resources permanently used to build those buildings.
