Dealer's Life

The End of the World was so close (spoilers)
So I'm on my third playthrough. I'd gotten almost all the achievements even before starting this run. I scoop up both of the fake selling/buying achievements on this round because I have sooooo much time because I'm going for the End of the World achievement. I'm up to month 146 thinking I'm finally going to knock out this very very grindy achievement, when I hit $500,000,000 or whatever the target amount was (for an achievement I got forever ago) and then the game just ends...all that time just basically down the drain.

It's not just the utter waste of time that bothers me. I like to complete all achievements available on games. I'm not sure why, but it really really bugs me when I can't. So to have my goal basically snatched away from me at the finish line, and knowing that I don't have it in me to ever grind through all that again, I guess I'm just really disappointed that this is even something that can happen.

If the devs see this, I'd urge you to take oddballs like me into consideration when making future games.

Hi, I am sorry for the late response but we had a small break to recharge our batteries!

I feel you and I'm sorry for that! <3
The fact is that in a simulation game it's a kind of a standard situation to have a threshold as a victory condition that is automatically triggered when reached. I honestly don't know how we could change that, if you think about it, in the most common scenario when possible... you want to win the game! :)
I'll think about this situation for Dealer's Life 2 (we haven't yet implemented Achievements there but the trigger for the victory conditions is the same) but if you have any suggestion or idea, please let me know! :dlgift:

I appreciate that you've taken the time to respond to me. I hope it's clear I consider this whole issue my own fault, despite how I may have come off in my post.

Though I was careful to not upgrade myself fully (I couldn't remember if grand master was a game ending trigger so I wasn't going to risk it) or move into the White House, I completely forgot about the money trigger. Is there a way to implement a choice to advance without ending if it's an ending you've already achieved?
