Why does the PC version only have a 4 player online mode and only the ranked is 8 player. Is this a bad joke?

Really, only 2 players online? Do you have to invite friend or you can join random players? There is no possibility to meet 8 random players online?

2 players locally on your PC. Online it can be between 2-4 players for unranked lobbied and for ranked matches up to 8 players depending on which type of game. You can just click on play online and will be automatically put in a lobby with other players.
