A new beggining event (ANB), help me understand please.

Hi all I have been hooked up on the game and have spent some money on it to help the devs because I have been having a blast, I managed to get to 70 so far.

So I started a new beggining event character but it says I only have 7 days to complete the event and then there is what seemed a 12 hour countdown of some sorts.

What is this?

I thought the event would last as long as the Premium Plus+ pack that I got to complete those tiers and now on the ANB event it is only 7 days.

I tried to find information online to no avail since there isnt any website with help or info about the game.
