Drain Life: When you see him using this, run away to break the effect, or he'll quickly kill you with it.
Devastating Assault: When you see him using this, run out of the circle where he's going to attack, or again he's going to kill you.
Eviscerate: When you see the arrow pointing at you, run away enough that he can't charge and hit you. It'll stack a bleed on you that will eventually kill you.
This means it's hard to get a lot of uptime on Elban. So you have to be patient, learn his patterns of attack, and chip away. If you still struggle, try to level up some more and get some better gear/improved skills for your character.
Once you're leveled and have some decent gear he's pretty faceroll. Note on Normal you can also drop the mob level back down to make it even easier once you finish the campaign. Now, in Trials, Elban is one of the bosses you can face, so you'll need to be ready to deal with him there, too. Fortunately, the same tactics still apply.
A tip: Trial bosses are on a rotation, it goes as follows.
Trial 1 and every 5 after: Magroth
Trial 2 and every 5 after: Broken Dragon
Trial 3 and every 5 after: Elban
Trial 4 and every 5 after: Garm
Trial 5 and every 5 after: Kara
Generally speaking, if you're trying to farm trials you'll be shooting for Kara, but when trying to push (take on the highest possible for Leaderboard rank) you'll have to face whoever you can reach.
never ever try to run away from him with warrior tackle or jump, for some reason bugs the attack and it keep draining your life even if you die. or at least that what happened to me because the effects of drain life stuck forever until i exit the level.
I survived and defeated Elban.
The two skills that helped the most was:
Paradox = 7 Levels
Mage Armor = 7 Levels
Activating Paradox at the second before Elban 1 shot me allowed me to survive with 1/4 of my health while kiting him.
Try facetanking him up around TL 98 and get back to me how easy he is.
At least for Elban there are ways to avoid his attacks as well as strategies you can use to kill him without dying yourself. Garm however is impossible to kill without dying yourself cause there's no way to avoid his drain attack. I'm max level with plenty of champion level skill points allocated and I still can't kill Garm without dying. He's far worse than Elban although Elban is pretty annoying to deal with too.
The overall damage scaling in this game is seriously imbalanced and definitely needs improvement.
