What are talents?

One of the tiles on the grid says I can swap in talents while in town. But what is a talent? All I know are skills and stats like dexterity/strength/intelligence.

Click the node and then click the "switch talent" button at the bottom of the screen.

It may not clear on ui currently. I didn't put any talent in slot in my story playthough and first several realm modes as well .

Ideally, the screen would jump straight to talent selection when you unlock the node.

That's a really good call. Should probably happen any time you click an empty talent node. You should post that in the suggestions section. It's a really good idea.

A whole new world opened up to me. A lot of these talents look really good.

They have a stat requirement, so be careful if you change gear, it could "unslot" a talent without you noticing it (fe. dex drops from 14 to 13).
