how to make a brass ingot?

you need to buy the advanced smelter first, then smelt copper and zinc ores together to get a brass ore. (new things like the smelter and other stuff spawn in your store but could be just under floor level, just crouch and spam "V" to grab it and place it where you might need it, the smelter should be big enough that you can see it already)

Are the smelters even working? I just jumped back in after a long time and I can't seem to get the basic smelter to melt anything both in the Alphatest and the main branch.

Are the smelters even working? I just jumped back in after a long time and I can't seem to get the basic smelter to melt anything both in the Alphatest and the main branch.

does it have fuel and are you putting the ore/ingots in the big top thing? havent played in a while either
